RC Aircraft Videos I took
I usually carry my digital video camera with me whenever I go anywhere where there are RC Aircraft flying. Just click any image below to start the video related to that image. Enjoy!
Jet RC Aircraft Flight
This was the first "live" Jet Flight I witnessed. BAD ASS! I only wish I had my tripod with me
I will try to get a better video later but this one is still definately worth watching! Click the image above to view. The video will start by itself but may take a few seconds to load. You must have high speed cable.
Update - June 17 2009:
Jack, the owner/pilot of the jet above, put a FlyCam on one of his jets
and took video of the flight. The video is below:
My First Plane's Maiden Flight
This is the first flight of my first plane. I decided I wanted the maiden flight to be accomplished by a more experienced pilot so I asked Mike, the Vice President of the Desert Hawks RC Flight Club in Lake Havasu Arizona if he would do me the honors. He said sure.A couple interesting notes: First, Mike doesn't normally fly foamies or electric planes however this one has a good reputation even with experienced flyers so I was interested to observe his reaction to flying this electric foamy.
Another thing is this plane is rated to handle up to 15 mph winds and it was a windy day. In fact upon takeoff, the wind speed was probably around 8 to 12 mph and ultimately, while the plane was in the air, the wind really picked up past the "safe" level with wind bursts of 20mph or so if not higher.
However, Mike flew it just fine and landed it safely. What made me feel really good is even though you can't hear him well in the video because of the wind, he kept commenting on how nice it was to fly and even did some areobatics with the plane. So if Mike, (a hard core gas and balsa flyer) enjoyed this plane, I'm sure I will as well. And considering her maiden flight was in "challenging" wind conditions and she went up and came down without incident, I consider this a very good omen. Here is the video:
