How it began for me
It was April 7th 2009 in Lake Havasu Arizona. The day started out pretty much like any other. I was taking my morning walk when I looked up and noticed a small aircraft approaching in the distance. It appeared to be headed right toward me and for for a spit second, I thought I might be in the proverbial wrong place at the wrong time.
Before making a mad dash for my life, I noticed the aircraft wasn't actually that far away, it was just very small. A radio controlled airplane to be exact. It suddenly banked away and I decided to follow it to see who was behind the wheel (or should I say the stick). It turns out there was a guy flying this remote controlled airplane from a parking lot a block or two away. I was enthralled and started asking him questions.
Now it's not that I'd never heard of remote controlled planes. I wasn't born yesterday after all. I just never really looked closely at them because when I was growing up the kits were quite expensive and not at all easy to build... Read The Rest of My Story HereI...
